Lingua Polonica is the first school of the Polish language and culture for foreigners in Tarnów.
Considered one of the seven most difficult languages, Polish is characterised by complicated grammar, numerous exceptions to many rules, complex inflexion, open syntax and high frequency of affricates in pronunciation, which may constitute a real challenge for some prospective students.
Schools of Polish as a foreign language operate in numerous cities in Poland, especially the biggest ones.
Courses conducted by those schools not only give tourists who visit those cities, relatives from abroad, and friends of Polish emigrants a chance to learn the language and the culture of the country which they are visiting, but also enable them to find out about historical places. Moreover, schools of Polish enable foreign business partners to start cooperation “in Polish”. For some, learning Polish is an adventure, some consider it a challenge in which they can verify their abilities, while for others Polish is the language of their roots and mastering this language is of huge significance to them.
Thanks to our initiative, last year Tarnów joined the group of cities in which you can learn Polish. Thanks to highly qualified staff, commitment and modern teaching methods, we give foreign guests, relatives and business partners a good chance to learn Polish in Tarnów or in its vicinity.
Our offer includes a wide range of courses – short, long, intensive, semestral, summer ones, etc. The courses are held in various age groups on all levels: the beginner, intermediate and advanced one.
Students develop all language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as the grammar system. As speaking is the key to effective communication and the basic part of mastering a foreign language, the main focus is always put on speaking, including correct pronunciation, especially on short and beginner level courses.
