Course levels

Individual lessons and courses as well as in-group courses are held in various age groups on all levels of language proficiency: elementary (A1, A2), intermediate (B1, B2) and advanced (C1,C2).
Participants are assigned to the appropriate level on the basis of the placement test results or on the basis of the interview with the teacher.

Elementary levels:

A1 – Elementary (Breakthrough) level – for participants who start learning Polish.
A2 – Pre-intermediate (Waystage) level – for participants who mastered Polish on an elementary level, know basic phrases and expressions and can communicate in everyday situations.

Intermediate levels:

B1 – Intermediate (Threshold) level – for participants who mastered Polish on an elementary level, can deal with simple, unambiguous information, know phrases and expressions related to everyday life, can participate in typical conversations concerning simple, easy to foresee topics.
B2 – Upper-intermediate (Vantage) level – for participants who can talk in a limited way in situations and about topics they are acquainted with (including topics related to culture), generally deal with information which diverge from routine, can understand typical news texts and press articles.

Advanced levels:

C1 – Advanced (Effective Competency) Level – for participants who mastered Polish on a general level, can discuss a wide range of topics, can express their opinion, can participate in fluent, social conversations, and can understand detailed information.
C2 – Proficiency (Mastery) Level – for participants who are competent Polish language users, have mastered all language skills on a very high level, can actively participate in work and science meetings within their job duties, can speak fluently and have mastered abstract expressions.
